GRAVE CONTAINING REMAINS FROM THE OLD CIVIL CEMETERY
Tracing the history of the city of Reus, we can observe that over the centuries, its urban area has hosted a total of four burial grounds. Initially, one was situated in what is now known as Mercadal Square. This burial ground was later relocated further south within the city, specifically to the area known as Fossar Vell. In the third phase, the burial ground was moved even further out, near the site of the old Ermita del Roser. Finally, as we will see throughout this historical journey, it was definitively established at the General Cemetery of Reus.
In this grave rest the remains recovered from the extramural cemetery of non-Catholic individuals who were buried during these various relocations.
